In Canada and the US, it was introduced last year and made accessible to users over the age of 18. Later, in June, it became accessible in the United Kingdom.

According to Meta, Horizon Worlds is a rapidly expanding global community of meta people. They asserted in February that the app had more than 300,000 monthly users.

Building a virtual world with more options

In a blog post announcing the virtual reality product’s European expansion, Meta stated, “We want everyone to have control over their experience in Horizon Worlds, therefore we’re always working to offer additional tools and features that help users tailor their own experiences.”

Additionally, Meta introduced an asset library with resources available to all creators. The business envisions creating a metaverse with a large number of these virtual reality realms.

Additionally going all in, Mark Zuckerberg committed $10 billion to the metaverse in 2021.
Clearly, this will be a highly expensive project over the next years. Zuckerberg stated this during the 2022 quarterly earnings call.

“But as the metaverse becomes more significant in every aspect of how we live, from our social platforms to entertainment, work, education, and commerce, I’m confident that we’re going to be happy that we played an important role in building this.

Following the rebranding of Facebook, the corporation invested a substantial sum of money in the metaverse. The company then had a decline in revenue during the second quarter of 2022.

The business claimed to have lost $3 billion as a result of the metaverse building in April. Zuckerberg expressed optimism that things will begin to improve by 2030.
