Fernandes told Eleven Sports following the Red Devils’ victory, “There is a lot of speculation.” I may know something or another, but I will not be the one to say it.

“For the time being, he is a United player; I don’t know about his future, whether he will go or not.”

“As he said, he’ll talk soon, and they’ll have time to hear what he has to say.”

“He has the ability to continue at a high level and provide us with several goals, but that is his decision.”

“We have to respect whatever he wants to do.”

“If he stays, we’ll be glad; if he leaves because he believes it’s best for him, I’ll be personally happy for him.”

With his future uncertain, the Portugal international resorted to Instagram to assure Man Utd fans that “you’ll all know the truth when I do an interview in a few weeks.”

“The media only spews lies,” Ronaldo continued. I keep a notebook, and only five of the previous 100 news reports I wrote were correct. You can imagine the way things are. Bear that figure in mind.”
