Antony stated that he is still following Manchester United after watching their 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday night.

The Brazilian international has been one of United’s top summer transfer targets, but Ajax is standing fast on their €100 million (£84.8m) valuation.

Antony refused to train with the Dutch club last week and sat out their 1-0 victory over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday in an attempt to force a move to United.

Antony appears to be keeping an eye on United’s progress under Erik ten Hag, as he posed for a photo with his brother while watching the game against Liverpool.

Emerson Santos, Antony’s finance and career manager, used a red devil emoji while taking a live shot of United’s game on his screen.

Antony is expected to join United before the end of the transfer window, while Ajax are reportedly dissatisfied with Ten Hag’s choice to pursue a move so late in the market.

Ajax head coach Alfred Schreuder stated over the weekend that he expects Antony to stay at the club.

‘I really want Antony to stay, so I don’t think he’ll be sold,’ Schreuder told ESPN.

‘The money is outrageous, but we’ve already sold five or six key players.’ I don’t think we should sell another player.’

When asked if Ajax is in a position to reject a significant offer from United, Schreuder replied, ‘I cannot assess that; the club must.’

‘However, I believe we are financially strong.’
When asked if he believes Antony would stay at Ajax this summer, Schreuder responded, ‘My feeling is that he will, but I also understand such a youngster.’ It is challenging.

‘But we play in the Champions League, and I don’t believe Manchester United does.’ Let’s wait and see what occurs.’
