“Nigerian music show promoter Eletu Balogun, widely known as Sam Larry, has broken his silence on the allegations surrounding the late singer Mohbad. Yesterday, he was summoned to the police station but failed to appear, causing a stir online.
Notably, Sam Larry had recently deactivated his Instagram account due to the backlash and curses from Nigerians who blamed him for Mohbad’s death. However, he has now come forward to vehemently deny all accusations related to the late Afrobeat rapper Mohbad.
In a recently uploaded video, Sam Larry addressed the allegations in his native language, explaining his relationship with the late rapper and emphatically stating that he could never harm him.”
In English, he expressed, “Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are listening from. I am Samson Irefolabi Balogun Eletu. Amidst all that’s going on, Mohbad is like a brother to me, and I genuinely care for him. Even during his time at Marlians Records, he knew I held affection for him, and his wife is aware of it too.”
“Everybody knows how much I cherish Mohbad. Whenever I travel, be it to Kenya or Dubai, I invite Mohbad to join me, and I’ve even mentioned arranging a show with Marlians Records.”
“Our disagreement doesn’t mean harm. I could never harm Mohbad; my love for him is profound, and God knows my intentions. I love him dearly, and I could never harm him.”
“I am clueless about his current situation. The viral video captures an incident from a long time ago, dating back to last year when I wasn’t even in Nigeria. It was circulated online afterward.”
The show promoter stated, “There’s a video featuring him in a wheelchair, and Zlatan can vouch for it. Feel free to contact him and inquire if I had any contact with Mohbad.”
