La Liga: Ancelotti reacts as Madrid loses top spot to Barcelona after Osasuna draw

Following Sunday’s 1-1 tie with Osasuna, Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, refrained to placing the responsibility on Karim Benzema.
When Benzema fired a late penalty off the crossbar, Los Blancos squandered the opportunity to win all three points.

Before Kike Garcia’s equalizing goal in the second half, Vinicius Jr. had given the LaLiga champions the lead.
Real dropped to second position behind rival Barcelona on goals difference as a result of failing to earn three points.

“We deserved the win but we missed a penalty. It’s normal, setbacks happen. This is football,” Ancelotti told reporters.
“Benzema has done his part, he had the penalty chance after a very good play but missed it. It’s an accident that sometimes happens. We have to move forward.“
