Sterling scored his first goals for Chelsea to help the 10-man Blues defeat the struggling Leicester.

The hosts took the lead 67 seconds after the break on the deflected shot of the £50 million summer signing, who then doubled their advantage from an inviting cross from Reece James, much to Conor Gallagher’s relief.

Up until Gallagher’s dismissal for receiving a second booking in the span of seven first-half minutes, Chelsea had been completely in control.

As a result, Leicester was able to regain control of the game. Before the half, they had the ball in the net, but Daniel Amartey’s shot was disallowed after Harvey Barnes was unfairly found to have fouled goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Barnes did score after a clever one-two with Jamie Vardy, but it came after the Foxes had fallen behind by two goals.
