“There’s a 50% chance of Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona this summer” – Sergio Aguero reveals

Sergio Aguero gave a strong indication that Lionel Messi would return to Barcelona, saying there was a “50%” chance his former Argentina teammate would sign with them again.

In 2021, Messi ended his 21-year relationship with Barcelona by signing a two-year contract to join Paris Saint-Germain in the midst of Barca’s financial struggles.

There is growing speculation that the World Cup winner won’t extend his contract with Paris and will become a free agent at the end of the current campaign.

The 35-year-old has been strongly linked with moves to David Beckham’s Inter Miami and the Major League Soccer. He has also been mentioned joining Cristiano Ronaldo by agreeing to a lucrative contract to play in Saudi Arabia.

However, his close friend Aguero has stated that he thinks Messi would find the temptation to return to the Nou Camp too hard to resist.

Speaking to TyC Sports the former Manchester City striker said: ‘I think Leo Messi should retire at Barca.

Barcelona is his home and he should finish his career there. My feeling is that there is a 50 per cent chance that he will return.’
