How Xavi blocked Arsenal’s move for Barcelona forward

Before the summer transfer window closed, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez reportedly prevented Arsenal from acquiring Ferran Torres.

In an effort to expand his alternatives for attacking, Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal launched a bold attempt to capture the forward. Torres only made the €55 million transfer from Manchester City to Camp Nou in January.
He has, however, struggled to find playing time this year as Xavi prefers Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele on the wing. Raphinha ironically almost signed for the Premier League side before Barca came calling.
Arsenal failed to convince the Catalan side to let Torres go despite offering to pay €30m, because Xavi insisted they turn down the approach.
