VGMA Gospel Queen, Piesie Esther Speaks Out About Unexpected Music Clash with Joyce Blessing
Reigning winner of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in the “Gospel Artiste of the Year” category, Piesie Esther, has clarified that she did not intend to steal the spotlight from her fellow singer, Joyce Blessing, with her latest song, ‘Mo,’ which coincidentally came out around the same time as Blessing’s ‘Victory.’
Piesie Esther emphasized that both of them are devoted to God’s work, and she does not view this as a competition. The gospel artist’s remarks followed online criticism she faced for releasing ‘Mo’ shortly after ‘Victory’ by Joyce Blessing had gained significant media attention.
During an appearance as a guest on Onua TV’s “Onua Showtym With Mcbrown” on Sunday, October 1, 2023, the ‘Way3 Me Yiye’ sensation shared, “We are like sisters, dedicated to the same mission in the name of the Lord. Let’s not allow anyone to sow discord between us. Believe me, I had no intention of overshadowing Joyce Blessing’s ‘Victory’ with the release of my new song.”
